Arcona Magic Black Ice.

Right about now, the best two things you can do for your skin are exfoliate as much as you can, and hydrate – constantly. We talked about hydration earlier this week but today I wanted to chat about a new product from ARCONA. Arcona has become one of my favorite natural brands. Their pumpkin body lotion (with 10% glycolic acid) is one of my all time favorite products as it leaves skin super silky and soft. It was also one of my best-selling products in 2016. I love it. So when the brand approached me about sharing this new launch, I could not wait. As always, I tested it out for two weeks before committing to feature it here… but as with the pumpkin lotion, it became an instant favorite.

Meet Magic Black Ice. It’s a mask that also exfoliates – giving you glowing, smooth, bright skin.

A few key ingredients:

  • Icelandic volcanic sand to physically exfoliate + act as a magnet to attract + pull out excess oil.
  • Black lava + charcoal to purify.
  • Mandelic acid to chemically exfoliate + brighten.

The product is great for all skin types (yes, even sensitive types – my skin is sensitive and I didn’t have any problems). I like to use it 2x a week. You only need a little bit to cover both your face and neck… and you can use it two different ways, depending on how much time you have. As a mask, apply a thin layer to clean skin and leave it on for 8-20 minutes. Once it is dry, I like to add a little warm water and massage it into my skin to gently exfoliate for a minute or two afterward. You can also use it as a gommage (gommage is a fancy word for exfoliant). After cleansing, massage using upward strokes for a minute or two and then rinse off with warm water.

I personally like using Magic Black Ice at night. You can use it in the morning too but it is a powerful exfoliant and may increase sensitivity to the sun, so be sure to use a good sunscreen if you do. For me, the thing I noticed most was that my skin felt so much more smooth – and a lot less dull. My skin gets so dry and the first symptoms are more fine lines, dullness, and ashiness on my cheeks + forehead. This fixes all of that. Just use a nice, thick moisturizer afterward to lock moisture into your newly super smooth skin.
