Apothia Bronzed.

Apothia-Bronzed

While in Tulum this past Spring, my friend Alex and I bonded over a great many things. White wine {especially before 5pm}, marathon reading sessions in the shade {especially our mutual YA obsession}, and a general sense of laziness {we both work a lot and desperately needed a break.} We also bonded over a love of the smell of orange blossom. I took her to the Coqui Coqui perfumery where she experienced their take on the fragrance… and she told me about Apothia’s Bronzed fragrance. “It’s like a mix of orange blossom, sunscreen, and the beach. AND THE CANDLE IS THE BEST CANDLE IN THE WORLD” she said. Or something like that. {Blame the white wine.} She has worked on a few projects with the owner of Ron Robinson {fellow East Coasters, Ron Robinson is Fred Segal’s beauty arm out in LA; and the parent company of Apothia… read more about them here} and a week or so after we returned, I got a little treat in the mail – the Bronzed candle, lotion, and shower gel. I opened it up and almost died when I smelled the fragrance.

I don’t know where to start. I guess with the candle? The candle will make your apartment smell obscenely good. Like the beach but with orange blossoms. And the body products aren’t just run of the mill fragrance body products. They are really wonderful quality. No parabens, no sulfate, and if you use the shower gel + lotion in the morning, you won’t need perfume – you’ll smell amazing all day long. The lotion is loaded with shea butter and apricot kernel oil and the shower gel contains all sorts of natural goodness… oat + coconut oils, and aloe vera to both cleanse and soothe the skin. I wish this blog could turn scratch & sniff so that I could show you how good it smells, but you’ll have to take my word for it. If you love orange blossom as much as I do, you must try this.

PS – Barney’s sells it, too!
