Happy Tuesday! Kelly here, with this week’s edition of Kelly’s Chic Under $100.
One of my earliest fashion memories is going suit shopping with my mom. She worked in finance, and when I was 8 or 10 she started bringing me along when she wanted to splurge on a new pantsuit or skirt set. She insisted that your image in the workplace was vital, and always said that there was no such thing as being overdressed in a corporate setting.
While I think that those harsh rules may be a bit dated now (and so are her perm and shoulder-padded pantsuits of yore), she was right about one thing: you should always dress up for work, no matter what you do.
I work in a pretty casual setting so I feel comfortable wearing dark wash jeans to the office a few times a week, but I still find that I do my best work when I dress them up with heels, a silk blouse, and a great coat.
So think of this week’s collection with regards to your workspace and how casual or dressy it may be… everything here is beautifully easy to dress up or down. My favorite parings? This midi skirt, booties, and a silky blouse, or this amazing gingham top, brogues, trousers, and a cuff.
Check out my favorites above and below (I added a few extra things below because I had to squeeze them in. I mean, how great is this dress??)
