I was craving cobalt blue, and wanting something color-blocked. Killed two birds with one stone this weekend by following this fabulous DIY.
Voila – a cute pouch to hold all my essentials. I used an American Apparel clutch, and Liquatex Basics Acrylic Paint. I love B’s advice… priming the clutch first with white acrylic paint was key (the blue came out so much brighter,) and the spray varnish gives the bag a much more finished look.
This wasn’t all I did this weekend… in the next couple days I’ll share the other clutch I made – which took a little bit more work.
th@s rly cool but th@ clutch alone was $46. for someone trying a DIY, the last thing i wuld do is waste money on the cost of the basic bag when i still hav to buy the supplies. the point of a DIY is to SAVE money. i think there culdv been sum research dun here to save viewers more money.
I’m sorry you feel that way!
Well, there is a shop on etsy that sells bags exactly like this, but for $200. So yes, by doing this DIY she DID save money. I am actually going to be doing this with two different ones. And saving about $250 in the process. And I’m sorry, but is using proper english so hard?
