The holidays can get so busy that before you can even blink, they’re over and you haven’t seen your friends in months! To make sure that didn’t happen, I hosted a few of my girlfriends at my apartment for a delicious (and slightly boozy) white wine brunch. I made strata, picked up a yummy dessert, and served one of my favorite white wines – Torresella Pinot Grigio. It was easy but so nice… the perfect relaxing afternoon!
Torresella has become a favorite as it’s an easy, perfect-for-sharing white wine (at an affordable price)! The Pinot Grigio is crisp and refreshing and pairs well with just about anything. Torressella’s grapes are grown in the hills of the Veneto region in Northeast Italy and I love the brand’s commitment to sustainability – the winery is solar powered and the brand’s lightweight packaging helps to minimize its carbon footprint.
I think it’s important to make things as convenient as possible. I’ve said this before but I love doing a strata or overnight eggs or french toast as the main dish. That way, you do as much prep as possible at night. And you are free to chat with your guests as they arrive. I also like to set the table the night before, too! I made this overnight spinach and gruyere strata and it it turned out well. Always easy, always delicious – it’s a crowd pleaser! I also made a salad, picked up some fresh berries, and grabbed some delicious dessert pastries at Martha’s Country Bakery (a Williamsburg favorite!)
Torresella has a bunch of great entertaining tips; which you can view here!

Just love the table! THose green glasses! Ironically, I made a strata last night. My friend who came over is pescatarian, so I went veg. Carmelized leek, mushroom, spinach, Gruyere and artichoke hearts. ( I guess he liked it, he had 3 pieces)I’ll look for that wine. I recently found a Rose’ from Verona called 11 minutes. It was such a crowd pleaser, I just bought 4 more bottles. What a beautiful table Grace. I’m currently trying to get a “Sunday” ( like the Brits do) lunch on the books with friends before it’s too late! Girlie get togethers are the best. You look so pretty, love all the metallic.
Thanks so much Cy! Hope you had a great weekend.
This was such a fun afternoon. Can we do it again? Soon? Please?
