Today we are going to talk about wardrobe staples and a few favorite things I added to my closet this Fall! I was thrilled to team up with Nordstrom on this post as it’s probably (definitely) the place I shop most. If you’re a regular reader then you know I am a big fan of high/low style. I love a good investment piece (my Manolos; my Gucci belt) paired with less expensive trendier items.
I really love Nordstrom’s assortment (they have everything – I can buy both investment items AND great under $100 items there from brands like Halogen and Treasure & Bond) and their shipping + return policies are the best! And they have free alterations in store. Without further ado though, let’s jump into the pieces!
My Favorite Wardrobe Additions for Fall:
One // The Classic Coat.
This was actually a bit of a happy accident as I thought it was black when I ordered it, but it’s green! The coat is currently sold out in green but the camel and red are both lovely. I would have bought the camel too if I didn’t already have a nice camel coat from a few years ago. The fit is perfection – it’s slim through the shoulders but slightly oversized everywhere else. I got a small which is my usual size in coats.
Two // The Striped Shirt.
A reader actually sent me this (Thanks Caitlin!) which I loved! It’s so nice when you guys do my shopping for me. 😉 She bought it and raved about it so I bought it too. I mean, the forest green stripes are so me. But what makes this top so special is the fabric. It’s a silky woven fabric, almost like a pajama top – except it’s really thick. I took a medium in this one as I wanted it to be oversized and cozy.

Three // AG Legging Jeans.
Friends keep raving to me about this brand but I’d actually never tried their denim. LOVE. I’m wearing this pair in both of these outfits and really love the fit and how well they hold their shape.
Four // The Teddy Coat.
This coat is from my friend Blair’s collection with Nordstrom and it is so good and SO cozy. It definitely runs big (she sent me the XS/S and I was like… “uhhh this isn’t going to fit”) but it’s perfect! So snuggly and so warm – and it’s the most flattering teddy coat I’ve tried on.
Five // This Cobalt Sweater.
I just really love the color of this sweater – and how big/comfy it is. I took my usual size (a small).

Six // The bow pump.
These are also a part of the Atlantic-Pacific collection for Nordstrom. I love how feminine these are. It’s fun pairing them with more casual pieces. They’re so pretty and surprisingly easy to walk in.
I love the two coats you recommended! The classic coat is a lovely shade of green. And the teddy coat looks so cosy and warm! I love them both! 🙂

Would you please tell me what size coat did you get? I want to get the same madewell coat but am not sure what size to get. I’ve gotten xxs in some of their flannels, but I’ve never gotten a coat from them. Thanks!
Hi there – I’m wearing a small. I am not sure how that is going to be helpful though – this post is from several years ago. I’d say order your regular size, Madewell is pretty TTS / slightly big.
