I need to be better at sharing my favorite things over here more often. In another life, I was a beauty editor – or at least I wish that were the case, as my bathroom is continuously overflowing with new products and I truly live to discover great new products – whether to share with you or keep to myself (which has been the case as of late – I’ve just been a little busy with the day job // a little absent minded.) Alas, here are six things that I really love right now… and not surprisingly, four of them are beauty products.
- I received a bottle of Shu Uemura’s Ultimate Remedy in a gift bag and had to give it a try. {My hair is so fried and I refuse to cut it.} It’s a dual serum / leave in conditioner but I actually like using it on my dry hair as a styling cream in between washes. It seals off any frizz and split ends, and smells amazing. My only problem is that the bottle is not big enough – can’t stop using it.
- These sunglasses {from Elie Tahari} are just the best. I like how big they are… and the shape is really great. I have an outfit post coming up wearing them, but in the meantime, I just wanted to share them here as they are big and bold and movie star-esque – but still rather elegant. I have them in Tortoise but am contemplating buying Oyster as well as I’ve been trying to find a lighter-hued pair of sunglasses that works well with my face shape.
- I will preface this by saying that I don’t quite understand what makes VMV Hypoallergenics’ Know-it-Oil any better than the organic coconut oil I buy at the grocery store, but it it is infinitely better, and I don’t really know why as it has one ingredient – organic coconut oil. It’s designed for extremely sensitive skin {hand raised} and has developed quite a cult following. It melts right into your skin immediately {the formula is definitely much finer than grocery store coconut oil} and leaves my skin so soft + silky – without being greasy.
- I couldn’t resist sharing this cute little collab. I sat next to my friend Carly at a recent blogger brunch and loved her striped/floral/personalized iphone case. Turns out, she designed it as part of her collab with Minnie & Emma. So cool. This case, pictured above is my fave but she has a few other varieties, including stationery. You can see the entire collaboration here.
- I’m all out of my Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask (one of my favorite products of all time) so I tried out Renee Rouleau’s Triple Berry Peel. Love. this. stuff. Very similar to Tata’s mask, it left my skin glowy and recharged. But the nerd/foodie in me loved that it felt a bit like spreading jam all over my face. Right down to the seeds in it! I’m a sucker for great all natural beauty products and this brand is going to become a new favorite.
- I almost didn’t share this last one with you, as this perfume is life-changingly good. If a perfume can change your life… and I believe it can {more because it subtly impacts your confidence and how others perceive you. When you first put it on it smells a little crazy. Super woody and not so nice. But then it dries down and blends with your body chemistry and just smells incredible. A little bit woodsy, a little bit powdery… with notes of sandalwood, virginia cedar, cardamom, violet, papyrus, spices, leather, musk and amber. I am contemplating tossing the rest of my fragrances. If you visit the Le Labo store {I went to the one at the Ace Hotel} they will blend it right in front of you. The perfumist called it New York’s best kept secret.
Love all these finds Grace! I am always looking for a new face mask to try. It is just such a nice little relaxing treat..a mini version of a spa at home. I love that the peel has ingredients from berries.
in love with that case!! xo jillian – cornflake dreams ps stop by! im hosting a pretty giveaway 🙂
That iphone case is too cute!
Oo love Tata’s resurfacing mask and really want to try the Renee Rouleau one now – sounds yummy and I’ve heard great things about a lot of her products!
i’ve been using the renee rouleau products for like a month or so now. i LOVE them. i generally suffer from acne and the dry flaky skin that acne products cause. but the gentle daily exfoliation and proper ingredients of these RR products are making my face smooth, soft, and even almost glow-y! first time in EVER that’s happened to my face! i also got a sample of the triple berry peel you speak of above and i.am.obsessed. it’s absolutely next on my “to purchase” list!
Love all your finds!!!
