tarte is a pioneer in the clean space and has been a favorite of mine for a while, particularly for mascara (I have loved Lights Camera Lashes for years and more recently started using their SEA Surfer Curl Mascara which has been my everyday mascara for a while). Their products are cruelty-free and hypoallergenic: packed with naturally-derived ingredients and formulated without the bad stuff like parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, triclosan & gluten.

As part of this campaign tarte sent me a bunch of products to play with.

Per usual, I love the mascara and shadows (this palette is to die for). But there were also three new-to-me products that I am newly obsessed with: Shape Tape Concealer (I feel like every blogger talks about this concealer and I can wholeheartedly say that it lives up to the hype – didn’t know this til now but tarte is actually America’s number one concealer brand!), their Maracuja Tinted moisturizer, and their Maracuja Juicy Lips. We’ll get to those in greater detail down below though… I’ve got swatches + before and after photos to share!

I feel like the Maracuja Juicy Lip needs its own very special shout-out could even have its very own post as these are AMAZING. Like lip gloss, in a convenient stick form and not sticky… they truly are just.. juicy! I’ve swatched them out for you above, but they’re incredible. I’ve been wearing “rose” a lot but love every single one of the shades.

I wanted to spend some time talking about tarte’s face products as I was least familiar but most impressed by these. In the above photo I have no face makeup on (I did do my brows and put on two coats of mascara). I tried a few things from tarte and wanted to share photos of each so that you can compare and decide for yourself!

In the left photo above I used tarte Shape Tape Concealer (my shade is light neutral) with no foundation.

I REALLY like this concealer. I have dark circles and a little redness so I applied it generously under my eyes and dotted it on red spots (a few spots on my cheeks + around my nose). It’s full coverage but doesn’t look like too much.

The Face Tape Foundation (also in light neutral) gave me perfect doll skin (right photo). It blended in perfectly. I’d use this for a photo shoot or a big night out. (I just don’t wear foundation-foundation very often but I love how this made my skin look).

I also tried the tarte SEA Hydro Concealer (also shade light neutral). In the left photo above I’m wearing the concealer but nothing on the rest of my face. I was surprised by this but prefer the Shape Tape! This one has a less matte finish (so it’s a little less ageing) but it’s not as full coverage as the Shape Tape. I personally prefer a more full coverage concealer for dark circles and red spot.

In the photo to the right, I left on the Hydro Concealer but added the Maracuja Tinted moisturizer (my shade is light medium neutral). I LOVE this. It left my skin dewy and radiant. A little less “perfect” than with Face Tape, but I felt very me and prefer a more dewy look as I get older.

I hope this is helpful and gives you options.

For me personally, I prefer the Shape Tape concealer and the Tinted moisturizer. It’s the perfect combination in my book. A more full coverage concealer + lighter coverage on the rest of my face.

eye palette from tarte

This eye palette is totally to die for. I love how pigmented tarte’s eyeshadows are and this one has everything you need (and no dud colors – my pet peeve with most palettes!)

eye palette from tarteLights Camera Lashes

Lights Camera Lashes is a classic cult favorite. It’s definitely one of the best mascaras I’ve tried. It also leaves lashes longer, thicker, AND lifted with a bit of curl and it doesn’t budge – no flaking off under your eyes.

Grace…just when I say ohh I don’t need anything else or to buy make up in the middle of a pandemic…here I am, going against all of this! As always, thanks for the thorough review, I am going to try a few things!

Hit send too soon on my last comment! I am justifying this because I am having a socially distant day time park bachelorette and a socially distance bridal shower coming up and honestly, my makeup is probably expired or something. Time to treat myself for something new to get dressed up and get out!

Their tinted moisturizer is the best out there! It’s the only one I’ve found that feels light and actually moisturizing, not like a greasy version of my foundation. I’ve been wanting to try the juicy lip forever.
