11 Thoughtful and Fun Gift Ideas.

11 Thoughtful and Fun Gift Ideas.

TGIF! It’s gift guide season, kind of sort of. In the past I would spend hours and hours creating these really elaborate gift guides. And that is fun, and I will have a few more guides for you (so far there’s only been one other: the best under $50 beauty gifts!) but I’m chilling out a little this year. They can all just be a bit much, you know? And it’s not even Thanksgiving!

Today’s gift guide is a special one. I really thought long and hard about what I would actually want to give or receive and here are a few of my personal favorites. I have not seen most of these things in other gift guides… and most of these items are from small businesses, which makes me really happy.

one // a custom pet sweater or blanket from Sweater Hound.

Sweater Hound is a really cool company. They’ll take an image of your pet and put it on a sweater. Or a blanket. Or a hoodie. The sweaters are made from recycled cotton and knit locally in Long Island. (Sweater Hound gifted me this one of Tyrion, dressed as superman.) They’re also pretty affordable – my sweater is super soft and $98… and if you use code GraceLovesTyrion, they’ll give you 15% off. There are tons of styles you can choose from – they’ll even make your pet into an ugly (or not so ugly!) Christmas sweater.

two // The Body Stone

When Mollie Chen came on our podcast, she talked about The Body Stone and I was instantly intrigued.

This is a sustainable solution to body butter and body lotion. (I’m ordering one for each of my sisters and my mom – LOVE.) The stone is made from cocoa butter, almond oil, avocado oil, and all that good stuff. You use it by massaging it all over your body (it melts upon contact, providing instant hydration). It comes in this beautiful bamboo canister, and you can order replacement stones as you use yours up. And of course, it’s all natural/clean. LOVE.

three // the most magical bath mit + my fav indie lee shower gel.

I bought this bath mit because of a TIBAL (things I bought and liked; one of my favorite blogs/instagram accounts) post and love it so much. It does a great job exfoliating and just feels really good on your skin.

A really thoughtful gift would be giving your girlfriends/mom/whomever this mit (it is very nicely packaged I might add) and a luxurious body wash like this one from Indie Lee!

four // The Night Pillow

If you listen to our podcast, you know how much we love The Night Pillow. I have two king size pillows and sleep so much better with mine. I always say that this pillow is the perfect gift for someone you want to get something really nice for, but aren’t sure what to get them – like your mother in law, for example! If you use our podcast code BOP20 you can take 20% off! It’s such a game changer.

While you are there, the travel pillow is also amazing for the frequent traveler and the sheet masks leave you so glowy – they have gold in them!

Equilibria Relief Cream

five // Equilibria Relief Cream

Equilibria has sponsored me and I can’t stop talking about the relief cream. It’s an absolute game changer. It’s perfect for cramps, sore muscles, really… ANY pain. It’s magical. I’m buying some for my dad! Use code graceatwood to get 20% off your order!

Candy Shop Vintage Horoscope Necklace

six // Candy Shop Vintage Horoscope Necklace

I love this necklace so much – it’s one of my most worn pieces right now. It’s really pretty and makes the perfect gift for that friend (you know who they are, I am that friend) who lives and dies by her horoscope and is 100% certain it’s absolutely true! (Is that too “libra” of me to say!?) You can peruse the whole horoscope collection here or shop for the libra necklace here!

Pornaments

seven // Pornaments

OMG these are not going to be for everyone but wow they are just so funny. Perfect for a white elephant gift, or for a funny/raunchy party gift, etc.

Peruse the whole collection here and be prepared to LOL! Such a hilarious idea!

Maison Louis Marie Candle + Courant Charging Mat

eight and nine // Maison Louis Marie Candle + Courant Charging Mat

Not to be given together (you could!) I just shot these together as they both live on my nightstand. The Maison Louis Marie No.4 candle is my FAVORITE and a great price at only $34 (it smells a lot like Le Labo Santal 26).

The courant mat is the perfect gift for the interior design enthusiast (or tech nerd) who has everything. It will charge your iPhone (and the newest airpods case, too!). I keep one on each side of the bed and also have one by the couch so that I can always charge my devices. There’s something a bit nicer/more luxurious about just throwing down your device on a charging mat as opposed to sticking it on a charger.

Eva Chen's children's books!

ten // any of Eva Chen’s children’s books!

My gift guides are never very kid friendly but I’m softening up now that I have a niece and two nephews. And oh my gosh these books are fantastic. I really wish they existed when I was a kid. They’re wonderfully feminist while also celebrating fashion! Start with her first (Juno Valentine and the Magical Shoes) where Juno steps into the shoes of female icons (like Lady Gaga and Frida Kahlo), going on new adventures with every pair of shoes.

Then, there is A is For Awesome. This one is a hard board book (better for my one year old niece!) This will make you rethink the alphabet (each letter stands for a different feminist icon (like Oprah or Ruth… Bader Ginsberg). And lastly is her newest book, Juno Valentine and the Fantastic Fashion Adventure. This time it is school picture day and Juno can’t decide what to wear… so she turns to (you guessed!) more female icons (think Audrey Hepburn and Michelle Obama) while discovering the self-confidence she needs to express herself in her own way!

luxurious hand cream + hand scrub!

eleven // a luxurious hand cream + hand scrub!

I love giving someone a luxe hand cream or hand scrub (like these from Byredo as no one ever buys these sort of luxuries for themself, but everyone appreciates it!!!) The new-ish Byredo Tulipmania fragrance is amazing (it smells like you think it would – like fresh tulips). It’s light and easy and a fragrance that I think anyone would love. Give one of these products or both… they’ll be much beloved by the recipient!

Hey Grace! What size did you get in the sweater? Do you think the small/medium would fit someone who is a true medium or should they size up?
