Video: How to Apply Highlighter!

how to apply highlighter! video tutorial | the stripe

I talk a lot about highlighters here! Specifically, I have gone on and on and on about the amazingness that is Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector, but I’ve never actually shown you how I use it. Now that I have a Youtube Channel, that’s the first order of business! Watch the video and I will walk you through my five favorite highlighters (including two all natural picks) and how to use them. I hope you enjoy (despite multiple cat interruptions and the fact that I have no idea what I’m doing – HA.)

And if you are compelled I would love for you to subscribe to my channel. I am going to be doing videos every two weeks (sometimes more frequently) and am having so much fun putting them together!

Happy Highlighting!

I’m loving your video content so much! Also, the RMS and Maya Chia are two of my faves. Such a great tip – mixing the Maya Chia with body oil for all over glow 🙂

  3. I’m loving your videos! They’re fantastic!

I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

I’m so bad with make up, so this video was very much needed in my life;)

You are just adorable! I have been reading your blog for quite a while and now I just love hearing you talk! You have such a soothing voice. Even though I’m old enough to be your mom (I’m in my 50’s), I find that you give tips that I can apply to my age. Now a question…I like to stay dewy looking too but do you think someone my age can use highlighters or is that too much? I don’t want to look like I’m trying to be 30! Ha. Have a great day, Grace!

    • Aw, thank you Liz!!!

You absolutely can and should use highlighters in my opinion. Of course you don’t want to go overboard, but a little dewiness is good for all skin types (my mom is in her sixties and I am constantly telling her to use highlighter!) I think the RMS one would be perfect. A little in the corners of your eyes, brow bone and temples!!

Do you recommend RMS skin perfector in Opal or Moonstone? the link is to Moonstone but in the video I think you say Opal? I’m sure they are both great but just wondering if you had a preference between the two. thanks!

    • So sorry about that! I first bought Moonstone, and then bought Opal the second time, as Moonstone was sold out. I love them both – they’re honestly pretty much identical, in my opinion. I’m using Opal in the video… but I used Moonstone the first time I wrote about it. And then I accidentally wrote Moonstone above – sorry for being confusing!

no worries at all! I think I have Moonstone now (based on your first recommendation way back!) and really enjoy it, so trying to figure out what to get when I re-purchase! It was super helpful to see how you actually use and apply the product. thank yoU!

This was such a useful video! I have highlighter but never really used it because I’d put too much and be too shiny. Now I have learned about using a little highlighter to emphasize, and bronzer the opposite way, and will be trying that out. Also the cat breaks were very fun!

    • i am so, so happy that it was helpful!!! it’s taken me a bit of time to figure it out but I love highlighter. Glad you liked the cat breaks too – what a little ham! xo
