I’m so excited to share these photos! Palais Royal has to be one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen – and it wasn’t even Spring (in the Spring it’s luscious and green and filled with flowers). Located just a few steps away from our beautiful Paris apartment (opposite The Louvre), it’s the perfect spot to grab coffee, people-watch, or drink champagne (I did all three of these things with Briony while I was there). I have lots more Paris (and Europe) content coming for you… it’s taking me forever to get through editing all of the photos and writing down all of the things we did! It was such an amazing trip… I’m happy to be home but already day-dreaming about my next trip back.

I packed this dress for my trip knowing how perfect it would be in Paris. You may remember it from this post (with bare legs and blonder hair!) It’s one of my favorite dresses… and also one of those dresses I lend out a lot… my mom has even borrowed it! I hate sharing things that are older here as they are in limited stock or out of stock but we tracked down some similar, equally pretty options here, here, here, + here. I just love a good flowy midi.

I hope you guys are having a good week. Mine has been on the busier side as I get caught up from being gone for so long. One highlight this week was an exciting meeting. I’ve been searching for a non-profit where I could get more involved, and had an amazing opportunity just drop into my lap this week… it lines up so perfectly with my interests + skill set and I really feel like I’ll be able to make a difference. I’ve accepted a position on their advisory board and cannot wait to get to work. More on that later, though!

An iconic shot… and a silly shot.. 😉 Everyone takes photos here but I didn’t know much about it til I did some research. These striped little stumps are actually an art installation called Les Deux Plateaux (meaning Two Levels and more commonly known as Colonnes de Buren) by French artist Daniel Buren. When the installation was first built in the 80s, it was seen as highly controversial as to some, the columns symbolized a new France, thrusting through the surface of the old French capital.

    • graceatwood says 2.27.17

Haha, maybe having a good photographer? These were taken a good ten days into getting to Europe… for the first few days my skin was so puffy and tired looking! 😉
