Happy 2017, friends! I took Friday + Monday off in favor of spending time with friends from out of town. It felt like everyone was visiting New York for New Year’s, so I got in quite a bit of friend time which was so nice. My New Year’s Eve was low key but so much fun. I went to my friend’s house in Bed-Stuy for a delicious, homemade surf & turf dinner. We laughed, we danced, we played Heads Up, and I didn’t get back home til nearly 4am – it’s been a while since I last did that!!!
Besides fun with friends there was also quite a bit of TV watching. I watched The OA in a couple days – anyone else? It’s gotten mixed reviews… everyone I know either loves it or hates it. I’m a bit lukewarm (and processing that final episode) but I would love to hear your thoughts if you’ve watched it too!
As a side note, this is my favorite coat. I bought the gray one two years ago and the red one last year and I live in both of them. I love that J.Crew Factory makes a version as well. There are a few less bells & whistles (zippers, etc) but it’s still just as cute! Last but not least, the PR girl for Sanctuary told me that these jeans magically shrink your hips. And they do. They are one of the most flattering pairs of jeans I’ve put on, and I love that they also happen to be under $100!
Also! I didn’t manage to get Saturday’s weekend reading post up, but I still had links to share… scroll down for those!

This LOFT sweater is the best. I have a long torso so I like a longer sweater. Basically, whenever I see “tunic sweater” on LOFT, I hit buy. It’s never actually a tunic on me… just the perfect sweater that hits right below my hips. You may remember that I also have this cozy turtleneck from them and it’s the same deal. Just long enough.
