Start by cutting 30 pieces of embroidery floss (each about 24-30″ long). Form three piles of ten strands of embroidery floss. Take a separate piece of floss, tie a knot. Wrap the floss around the top of the braid a few times, form a loop, and tie a knot. Cut the top of your braid off. Slowly start braiding a nice fat, flat braid.
