Kelly’s Chic Under $100: NYFW Looks.

fashion week outfit inspiration for under $100! | the stripe

When it comes to the weather, fashion week always happens to fall just a few weeks too early! The fall shows happen in February when it’s still snowy and freezing, and then the spring shows happen in September when it’s still just a tad too warm (and you’ve still got to put together looks that feel fresh for fall). This week kicks off NYFW SS18 (I still can’t wrap my head around 2018 being 4 months away… yikes), so I’m rounding up some affordable picks that would be perfect for early fall weather (regardless of whether you’ll be checking out the shows!).

First on my transitional list: layering sweaters over long dresses. It always looks really put together but also allows for flexibility with NY’s weather mood swings. Try a bright yellow dress under a cozy grey sweater or a floral dress under a yellow sweater (clearly I’m still not over yellow).

Second, try pulling some summer trends (like gingham) through to fall with a light overcoat and some bright red nail polish.

Finally, always keep an element of practicality to your look. That means very low heels, sunglasses, dry shampoo, and a chic iPhone charger that doubles as a keychain. Keep up your skincare game to cover up any late nights or baggy eyes with this incredible retinol cream from Verso or these relaxing eye masks from Klorane.

May the fashion week gods be in your favor!

Xx
