The Best Striped Dresses for Summer.

Happy Wednesday! I’m back from Cape Cod. I got home yesterday late afternoon… I had SUCH a nice few days with my parents. It’s always fun going home and of course the Cape is beautiful this time of year but this trip was extra special as they didn’t have to work! (They just sold our family restaurant, and in the past summers were really busy so they had to work every night and we’d do things during the day.) I loved having my parents to myself for a few days, and getting in some good quality time. I’m going back for a week in August which will be really nice.

Honestly if I were to choose one summer essential to wear every day (except maybe a breezy white blouse and good cutoffs), it would be a great stripe t-shirt dress. I know that this one is expensive (I’ve rounded up a few more affordable options down below) but up until now I’ve had a really hard time finding a striped t-shirt dress that I feel comfortable in. I carry my weight in my stomach and hips and they’re all too clingy! This one is made from a thick structured fabric and it’s really well cut. And I really love the cut out in the back (see the last photo). It’s pretty perfect and I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve already worn it. Also, it has pockets!

Also, we have a new episode of Bad on Paper up, so check that out.

Outfit Details: Sacai Dress (runs small, wearing a size 3) / / Loeffler Randall Net Bag c/o (love this color, too) / / Marion Parke Sandals / / Cuyana Hat (similar here).

A few more affordable t-shirt dress options...

If you are looking for an affordable alternative to this t-shirt dress, I have you covered. I spent a really long time looking for cute t-shirt dresses that are not skin tight (it’s no easy feat!) and came across quite a few good ones. I immediately gravitated toward this one as I like the oversized silhouette + it also has an interesting back. This one looks nice too (and I like that it has pockets!) I love the look of this pleat back dress and it’s sweatshirt material so you know it will be thick and flattering (i.e. not clingy!) and you can never go wrong with Kule – their stripes are so timeless. Just size up as in my experience their pieces run a bit small.

I love this bag!

It’s no secret that I love pretty much everything Loeffler Randall does, and this net bag is a new and very welcome new addition to my wardrobe. I love it! It comes in several other colors but I’m really into the red + blue one as it matches my entire summer wardrobe.

  1. Stripes are my go-to to wear year round, whether in shirt form or in dress form! ❤️ I’ve been loving the loose fits of tshirt dresses lately, I need a striped one to add to my collection too! 🙂

I really love the striped dress I got from Brass Clothing! It’s a local brand in Boston — no affiliation but big fan of any small female founded company 🙂

Are you wearing a regular bra with this dress? It’s super cute, but I can’t go bra-less 🙂
