A couple weeks ago (inspired by a spa treatment I had) I decided to try using my body scrub on dry skin, before my shower.
I don’t know about you but I am obsessed with getting soft skin and when I do a scrub in the shower I like to really scrub myself for at least a few minutes; ideally turning the water off. But that gets so cold! Using the scrub on dry skin was kind of just the best thing ever – I wasn’t wet (and cold) so I could scrub and scrub and scrub. I spent a solid 7 or 8 minutes scrubbing my entire body from my feet to the tips of my fingers… and when I did shower/rinse the scrub off, my skin was the softest EVER and my entire body GLOWED. My mind was blown and I’ve resolved to try and do this every week.
This is best with an oil-based scrub… if it’s loose scrub or a scrub that’s meant to be lathered up with water it wont’ work. I used this Susanne Kaufmann scrub (it was sent to me and it’s absolutely amazing but also a bit expensive) but a few other scrubs I really love are this rose scrub, this magnesium scrub and this one from Oribe. I’d say the Susanne Kaufmann one is the most effective and the Oribe smells the best. (And for something budget friendly try mixing equal parts olive oil or coconut oil with sugar.) But you don’t have to use any of these scrubs. This post isn’t about buying a new scrub (though these are all lovely!). It’s about using your scrub in a different way – on dry skin. So scrub away my friends, and prepare to be amazed by how much smoother and softer your skin is!
