Today I’m excited to share a fun DIY project that I worked on for Buzzfeed’s Craft Wars. As part of the challenge, we were asked to take a pair of classic / plain shoes, and transform them into something special. Choosing TOMS was a no-brainer (I love the shoes – and that the company sends a pair of shoes to a child in need,) and I knew immediately that I had to stripe them in neon pink! I’m thrilled with how they turned out and haven’t been able to take them off my feet since I made them!

What you’ll need:
- One pair of classic TOMS Shoes
- Paint Brush
- Neon Pink fabric paint
- Painters Tape
Begin by striping your TOMS in tape. You’ll want to do so carefully. I opted to go with a diagonal stripe to complement the stitching + design of the shoe. Stripe the entire shoe. You’ll notice that I went with vertical stripes on the sides… and diagonal stripes on the front!
Make sure that the tape is securely adhered to the shoe with no gaps between the tape and shoe. From there, begin painting the canvas!
Allow to dry.
Peel back and voila… your shoes are finished! And don’t forget – get over to BuzzFeed and vote for moi!
